1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how FA Workshop (sole proprietor) (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses personal data when you use NextBoard HK (就到站) (the “Service”).

We are an independent product and are not an official application of any Hong Kong public transport operator.

2. Scope

This Policy covers the Service’s website/app, related APIs, and features such as ETA boards, search, sign-in, advertisements, and optional analytics. It does not cover third-party websites or apps that we do not control (including transport operators’ own sites).

We do not use a separate Cookie Policy or a classic Accept/Decline cookie banner. Cookie and similar storage use is described in this Policy. Advertisements and analytics are separate opt-in choices in the Service.

3. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

3.1 Account and identity (when you sign in)

Identifiers from your sign-in provider (for example Google via Firebase Authentication), such as a unique user ID, display name, and email address associated with that account
Account-related preferences stored for signed-in users (for example language, theme, ETA display preferences)

We do not store passwords for Google sign-in; authentication is handled by Firebase / Google.

3.2 ETA boards and usage content

ETA board / favourite configurations you create (stops, routes, labels, order)
Anonymous users: stored on your device (for example in localStorage)
Signed-in users: synced to our servers so boards can follow your account across devices

3.3 Technical and service data

Device and browser information, IP address, request logs, approximate region derived from network, timestamps, error diagnostics
Performance and operational telemetry needed to run and secure the Service (separate from optional product analytics)

3.4 Consent and preference flags (on your device)

We store local flags such as:

ads_consent — whether you agreed to display advertisements for non-Pro ETA access
analytics_consent — whether you opted in to optional product analytics

These flags are product preferences; they are not a substitute for reading this Policy.

3.5 What we try not to collect

We do not intend to collect precise continuous GPS location for analytics
We do not intend to send names, emails, or other direct identifiers in analytics event payloads
We do not enable Google signals / ads personalization features unless we make an explicit product decision and update this Policy

Stop/station coordinates used to confirm a stop on a map (when that feature is available) are used to show the map for that task, not as a tracking profile.

3.6 Payments (when Pro is live)

If you purchase Pro, our payment processor (for example Stripe) will process payment details according to their privacy notice. We typically receive subscription status and related billing metadata, not your full card number.

4. How we use personal data

We use personal data to:

Provide, operate, and improve the Service (ETA boards, search, sync, settings)
Authenticate you and protect accounts and infrastructure
Enforce usage limits and feature tiers (including Pro when available)
Show advertisements when you have agreed (ads_consent) and you are not on an ad-free Pro plan
Measure product usage when you have opted in (analytics_consent)
Communicate about the Service (for example support replies, material policy updates)
Comply with law and protect rights, safety, and security

5. Advertisements

Non-Pro access to ETA features requires your agreement to display ads (including Google AdSense). When ads are enabled:

Google and its partners may collect device and usage data using cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, subject to Google’s policies
You can turn advertisements off in Settings; doing so locks non-Pro ETA until you agree again or upgrade to Pro
Ads are intended not to block ETA display

Ad-related processing by Google is also governed by Google’s privacy materials for AdSense / advertising products.

6. Analytics

Optional product analytics (Google Analytics 4) load only if you opt in (for example a checkbox on the ads gate, default off, or Settings → Analytics).

When enabled, Google may set cookies or use similar storage and collect aggregated usage information (for example page views and events). We design events to avoid personal identifiers and precise location.

You can withdraw analytics consent anytime in Settings. Turning analytics off does not lock ETA.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for:

You can clear site data in your browser; that may sign you out, reset consents, or remove anonymous boards stored only on the device.

8. Sharing and disclosure

We may share personal data with:

Service providers who process data for us (hosting, databases, authentication, analytics, advertising, payments, error monitoring), under contractual or platform terms
Google / Firebase for sign-in, and for ads/analytics when you have enabled those features
Payment processors when Pro billing is live
Authorities or other parties when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security
A successor entity if we restructure or transfer the business, with appropriate notice where required

We do not sell your personal data as a standalone commodity.

Transport ETA content is fetched from third-party operator or government open-data sources; those providers’ systems are outside our control.

9. International transfers

Our providers (including Google and hosting vendors) may process data in locations outside Hong Kong. Where we use such providers, we rely on their contractual and platform safeguards applicable to their services.

10. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above:

Account and synced boards: while your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for backups, disputes, or legal obligations
Device-local data: until you clear it or uninstall / clear site data
Logs and security records: for operational periods appropriate to security and debugging
Billing records: as required by law and the payment provider when Pro is live

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to a small consumer web service (for example HTTPS, access controls, and authenticated APIs). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

12. Children

The Service is intended for a general Hong Kong public-transport audience. If you are under the age where you can consent to online services in your place of residence, use the Service only with a parent or guardian’s involvement. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children for marketing profiles. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data inappropriately.

13. Your choices and requests

You may:

Use limited features without signing in
Opt in or out of analytics in Settings
Agree to or turn off advertisements (turning ads off locks non-Pro ETA)
Sign out; request account deletion where the product supports it (contact us if needed)
Clear browser / site storage

Subject to Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and other applicable law, you may request access to or correction of personal data we hold about you. Contact nextboardhk@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. For material changes, we may provide additional notice in the Service. Continued use after the effective date means you acknowledge the updated Policy.

本政策涵蓋本服務的網站／應用程式、相關應用程式介面，以及到站板、搜尋、登入、廣告及可選使用分析等功能。本政策不涵蓋我們無法控制的第三方網站或應用程式（包括營辦商本身的網站）。

我們不會另設 Cookie 政策，亦不會使用傳統「接受／拒絕」Cookie 橫幅。Cookie 及類似儲存技術的使用載於本政策。廣告與使用分析在本服務中屬分開的選擇。

3. 我們收集的個人資料

視乎你如何使用本服務，我們可能收集：

3.1 帳戶及身份（當你登入時）

來自登入服務供應商（例如透過 Firebase Authentication 的 Google）的識別資料，例如唯一用戶識別碼、顯示名稱，以及與該帳戶相關的電郵地址
為已登入用戶儲存的帳戶偏好（例如語言、主題、到站時間顯示偏好）

我們不會儲存 Google 登入的密碼；身份驗證由 Firebase／Google 處理。

3.2 到站板及使用內容

你建立的到站板／最愛設定（站點、路線、名稱、排序）
匿名用戶： 儲存在你的裝置（例如 localStorage）
已登入用戶： 同步至我們的伺服器，以便跨裝置跟隨你的帳戶

3.3 技術及服務資料

裝置及瀏覽器資料、IP 位址、請求紀錄、由網絡推斷的大概地區、時間戳、錯誤診斷資料
營運及保安所需的效能／運作遙測（與可選的產品分析分開）

3.4 同意及偏好標記（於你的裝置）

我們會儲存本機標記，例如：

ads_consent — 你是否同意為非 Pro 到站時間顯示廣告
analytics_consent — 你是否選擇加入可選的產品使用分析

上述標記為產品偏好，並不能取代閱讀本政策。

3.5 我們盡量不收集的資料

我們無意為分析用途收集持續的精確 GPS 位置
我們無意在分析事件中傳送姓名、電郵或其他直接識別資料
除非我們作出明確產品決定並更新本政策，否則不會啟用 Google signals／廣告個人化相關功能

用於在地圖上確認站點的經緯度（如提供該功能）僅作該次確認用途，而非用作追蹤檔案。

3.6 付款（當 Pro 上線時）

若你購買 Pro，付款處理商（例如 Stripe）會按其私隱通知處理付款資料。我們通常只收到訂閱狀態及相關帳單中繼資料，而非完整信用卡號碼。

4. 我們如何使用個人資料

我們使用個人資料以：

提供、營運及改善本服務（到站板、搜尋、同步、設定）
驗證身份並保護帳戶及基礎設施
執行使用上限及功能等級（包括提供 Pro 時）
在你已同意（ads_consent）且並非無廣告 Pro 計劃時顯示廣告
在你已選擇加入（analytics_consent）時衡量產品使用情況
就本服務與你通訊（例如支援回覆、重大政策更新）
遵守法律，以及保障權利、安全及保安

5. 廣告

非 Pro 用戶使用到站時間功能前，須同意顯示廣告（包括 Google AdSense）。啟用廣告後：

Google 及其合作夥伴可能使用 Cookie 或類似技術收集裝置及使用資料，以投放及衡量廣告，並受 Google 政策約束
你可在設定中關閉廣告；關閉後會鎖上非 Pro 的到站時間，直至再次同意或升級至 Pro
廣告不應阻擋到站時間顯示

Google 就廣告進行的處理，亦受其 AdSense／廣告產品的私隱資料約束。

6. 使用分析

可選的產品使用分析（Google Analytics 4）僅在你選擇加入後才會載入（例如廣告提示畫面上的核取方塊，預設為關閉，或設定 → 使用分析）。

啟用後，Google 可能設定 Cookie 或使用類似儲存，並收集匯總使用資料（例如頁面瀏覽及事件）。我們設計事件時會避免個人識別資料及精確位置。

你可隨時在設定中撤回分析同意。關閉分析不會鎖上到站時間。

7. Cookie 及類似技術

我們及供應商可能使用 Cookie、本機儲存及類似技術，用途包括：

10. 保留

我們僅在達成本政策所述目的所需期間保留個人資料：

帳戶及已同步到站板： 帳戶仍然有效期間，以及其後因備份、爭議或法律責任而合理需要的期間
裝置本機資料： 直至你清除或解除安裝／清除網站資料
日誌及保安紀錄： 按營運及除錯所需的合理期間
帳單紀錄： 於 Pro 上線時按法律及付款處理商要求保留

11. 保安

我們採取與小型消費者網絡服務相稱的合理技術及組織措施（例如 HTTPS、存取控制及經身份驗證的應用程式介面）。任何傳輸或儲存方式均無法保證絕對安全。

12. 兒童

本服務面向一般香港公共交通使用者。若你未達所在地可自行同意使用網上服務的年齡，請在家長或監護人參與下使用本服務。我們不會故意為市場推廣檔案而收集兒童個人資料。如你認為兒童不當地提供了資料，請聯絡我們。

13. 你的選擇及要求

你可以：

在不登入的情況下使用有限功能
在設定中選擇加入或退出使用分析
同意或關閉廣告（關閉廣告會鎖上非 Pro 的到站時間）
登出；在產品支援時要求刪除帳戶（如需要可聯絡我們）
清除瀏覽器／網站儲存

你可在设置中关闭广告；关闭后会锁上非 Pro 的到站时间，直至再次同意或升级至 Pro

6. 使用分析

可选的产品使用分析（Google Analytics 4）仅在你选择加入后才会加载（例如广告提示画面上的复选框，默认为关闭，或设置 → 使用分析）。

启用后，Google 可能设置 Cookie 或使用类似存储，并收集汇总使用资料（例如页面浏览及事件）。我们设计事件时会避免个人识别资料及精确位置。
